When importing a pet into Thailand, customs duties and taxes may apply depending on the purpose of importation, supporting documents, and the customs valuation determined by Thai Customs.

Customs Valuation

Thai Customs may determine the customs value of a pet based on the declared value together with supporting evidence. If the declared value cannot be verified, Customs may assess the value using available market information and comparable prices.

For example, if a particular breed has an estimated market value of USD 5,000, Customs may use that value when calculating applicable import duties and taxes.

The final amount payable depends on several factors, including:

• Species and breed

• Customs valuation

• Country of origin

• Supporting documents

• Current Thai Customs regulations

Because customs duties are based on the assessed value of the pet, the total customs fees can vary significantly from one shipment to another.

Flat-Rate Customs Clearance Service

Bangkok Pet Taxi offers a flat-rate customs clearance service for THB 12,000 per pet at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).

Our service includes customs clearance coordination and all standard handling fees regardless of your pet's size.

Please note: Any government import duty, VAT, customs tax, or other official charges assessed by Thai Customs are separate and are payable according to the customs valuation of your pet.
