Why Don't We Use Eco Cars?

Many customers ask why Bangkok Pet Taxi doesn't use small eco cars for pet transportation.

The answer is simple: our priority is your pet's safety and comfort—not just fuel economy.

We appreciate eco cars because they are fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly. However, Thailand's climate and the needs of pet transportation require us to consider other important factors.

Thailand's Hot Climate

Thailand is a tropical country where temperatures can exceed 35°C for much of the year.

For this reason, we prefer vehicles equipped with dual air-conditioning systems whenever possible.

If one air-conditioning system performs poorly or unexpectedly stops working during a journey, a second system can continue cooling the cabin while we safely complete the trip or arrange another vehicle.

This additional redundancy is especially important when transporting pets, which are more sensitive to heat than humans.

Crate Space Matters

Another reason is crate size.

Many travel crates—especially L, XL, and Giant sizes—simply do not fit safely inside a typical eco car.

Using a larger vehicle allows us to:

• Position crates correctly

• Maintain proper ventilation

• Secure the crate during transport

• Leave enough space for passengers and luggage

Small Vehicle, Same Standard

For smaller pets travelling in S or M-size crates, we may use compact MPVs or EVs that still meet our safety standards.

Examples include:

• Toyota Avanza

• Selected electric vehicles (EVs)

These vehicles still provide:

• Spacious interiors

• Good airflow

• Dual air-conditioning systems

• Comfortable transportation for pets and owners

• Pet comfort

• Cabin temperature

• Crate compatibility

• Passenger space

• Route distance

• Overall reliability

While eco cars are excellent for many everyday journeys, our priority is ensuring that every pet travels in a vehicle with enough space, reliable cooling, and suitable conditions for a safe and stress-free trip.
